Nick
Kurczewski is an
automotive journalist based in New York who has contributed
to some of the most well-respected automotive and mainstream
publications in the United States and the UK. Nick is
a regular contributor to The New York Times Online's Wheels
blog as well as Edmunds' AutoObserver.com among others.
Raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Westfield, New Jersey,
Nick had an early passion for cars and dreamed of being
a Formula One driver. However, after spending a summer
break from college training at Bridgestone Racing Academy
in Ontario, Nick discovered that he was less adept at
actually driving a race car than he was at writing about
the experience.
After
several years of successful freelance work in New York,
Nick decided that it was time to broaden his experience.
With that, he packed his bags and moved to Paris, France.
His travels have taken him across Europe and the United
States - to the factory floors of the most exciting sports
car manufacturers, and along some of Europe's most spectacular
roads. After a five year stint in Paris, Nick is back
in New York City, covering all things auto.
In
his free moments, Nick enjoys watching Formula One racing,
cooking, travel and above all, meeting new people with
interesting cars. Nick, his partner Matt and their pug
Merlin live in lower Manhattan.
Nick
is an active member of
the International Motor Press Association (IMPA - www.impa.org),
the Association Française de la Presse Automobile
(AFPA) and the British Guild of Motoring Writers. He holds
a BA in English from Longwood University.
